Cases presented here are only some of the cases handled by David Chow. All cases use lettering to protect the identity of the client for solicitor-client privilege purposes. The case lettering does not necessarily reflect the client's actual initials.  David has successfully defended many clients not represented here. Case results are updated periodically and thus are not necessarily up-to-date.

R. v. M.F.

(Okotoks P. C. ). The client was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

R. v. L.M.

(Calgary, P. C. ).   L. M. was charged with criminal negligence in relation to an elderly person in her care.

R. V. R.K.

(Taber, P. C. J. ) The accused was charged with domestic assault in relation to an incident that involved his girlfriend.

R. v. J.M.

(Calgary, P. C. ). Client charged with assault with a weapon for purportedly drawing a firearm and attacking the victim with a knife.

R. v. C.E.P.

(Medicine Hat, P. C. ).   Client was charged with a serious home invasion involving a firearm.

R. v. M.A.

(Lethbridge, P. C. ).   Client was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.   This was a serious case involving a shooting in the City of Lethbridge, Alberta.

R. v. A.M.

(Calgary, P. C. ).   Client charged with seven allegations of breaching bail.   The underlying bail concerned serious allegations of assaulting police.

R. v. E.A.

(Calgary, P. C. ). Client was charged with a serious  aggravated assault in Calgary.

R. v. S.L.

(Calgary, P. C. )  Client was charged with a serious home invasion robbery in Calgary.

R. v. A.H.

(Calgary, P. C. ). Client charged with assaulting peace officers.   All charges were stayed on the date of trial due to Charter issues alleging excessive use of force.

R. v. D.M.

(Calgary, P. C. ). Client was charged with aggravated assault, extortion, kidnapping and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

R. v. L.M.J.

(Calgary, P. C. ).  Client was charged with over two dozen firearms related charges in relation to seven illegal handguns.

R. v. C.E. et al

(Alta. Q. B. ).  C. E. was charged with break and enter with intent to commit robbery (home invasion) and theft.

R. v. R.O.

(Calgary, P. C. - Assault Police Officer).   In this case, the client was charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, simple assault, uttering threats and mischief.

R. v. H.L.

[2010] (unreported, Alta. P. C. ) – Client was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

R. v. T.L.

Client was charged with criminal harassment and breaching bail conditions.   Defence counsel successfully argued for a conditional discharge.

R. v. C.D.A.

Client plead not guilty to fraud and resisting arrest.   He was acquitted at trial.

R. v. H.R.

Client was charged with aggravated assault in a stabbing.

R. v. R.I.

Client was charged with assault causing bodily harm to a child.   The client was acquitted after trial.

R. v. M.O.

 Client was charged with assault and mischief in a road rage incident.   The client was offered a conditional discharge mid-trial and accepted.

R. v. K.F.C.

Client was charged with sexual assault.   After conviction, defence counsel successfully applied for a mistrial.   The charges were ultimately stayed against the client.

R. v. J.W.

The accused was charged with assault.   The crown relied upon videotape evidence purporting to capture the incident.   Despite the videotape evidence, the Crown withdrew the charges mid-trial.

R. v. T.D.

(unreported) – Client charged with assault, choking, threats, confinement and obstruction of justice.   Charges stayed at trial after cross-examination of the essential witness.
