(Calgary, Q.B.).  Client was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking Cocaine in relation to one ounce found in a living room and cocaine found in a closet.  He was also charged with Possession of a loaded, restricted handgun.  If convicted of the loaded handgun charge he would have received a minimum three years incarceration (at the time of this case).  At an earlier Preliminary Inquiry he was committed to stand trial for possession of the firearm only, but not that it was loaded. At trial, he was acquitted of possession of the firearm and the drugs located in the living room.  Charged with a drug or weapons offence.
