R. v. A.J.
R. v. A.J.
(Calgary, Q.B.). Client charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (PPT) for cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana and possession of the proceeds of crime. Charges arose when the Calgary Police Service (CPS) tactical team executed a search warrant at AJ's residence The accused was located in a bedroom where drugs and money were found. Drugs and money were seized from various locations throughout the residence. David Chow was AJ's Calgary drug lawyer of choice. The defence raised several issues at trial, which included mounting a defence based on the manner of search. In this case, the tactical team entered the home violently, with machine guns and wearing masks. Though AJ's case was very similar to R. v. Cornell, it was distinguishable on its facts. After a long trial, lasting several days over many months, the client was acquitted of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. David Chow is a drug lawyer in Calgary who has defended everything from simple possession to multi-kilo importation of narcotics. He is not only a Calgary DUI lawyer/Impaired driving lawyer and drug defence lawyer, he is a full service criminal defence lawyer in Calgary who appears throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
